Overcoming Obstacles Award 2018

Working with teachers and counselors from the three local high schools, students are identified who have had serious obstacles placed in their path and have persevered academically and personally in spite of them.  Students are encouraged to apply for our Overcoming Obstacles Award program.  Students are assigned a club mentor and sponsor, attend a morning session where they hear motivational and moving stories from community leaders, and at the club meeting share their personal stories.  Students receive scholarships for their participation in the program.
