Overarching Picture of LandPaths & Mission by Eric Singer
LandPaths is an environmental education and conservation leader with the mission is to foster a love of the land in Sonoma County. We believe everyone should have access to the awe and inspiration of nature.
Annually, we engage thousands of participants like you in joyful, caring, and transformative relationship with the land. We do this mainly through creative outings led in both English and Spanish, environmental education, nature camps, and people-powered land stewardship of local open spaces.
Our community gardens, office, and preserves throughout Sonoma County are located on the ancestral homelands of the Southern Pomo, Coast Miwok, Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians, and Mishewal people, past, present, and future. We recognize them as the first people and the first stewards of this land.
Eric Singer (He/Him/His) joined LandPaths in January 2023 as the Development Manager. Eric has an extensive background in effective nonprofit fundraising for social services, the arts, and education. He began his career in development at Goodwill of San Francisco raising funds to support job training for people with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions. Highlights of his experience include corporate fundraising experience with the San Francisco/Marin Food Bank, and the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University. Eric was particularly attracted to LandPaths’ mission as we utilize the natural world as a platform for providing meaningful social service.
Originally from the east coast, Eric has made Northern California home since the 1990s, moving to Sonoma County in 2015. He has a B.A. in psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Before starting work as a development professional, Eric began his career as a vocational counselor with adults with mental health disabilities. He went on to be a job placement specialist, and then a manager of other job placement professionals. Most recently before joining LandPaths, Eric worked as a senior marketing consultant for Sonoma Media Investments.
When not at work Eric enjoys spending time with his two children, Lionel and Oona, and his partner Andrea and her son Bastien. He loves to cook, enjoys physical exercise including hiking, and finds joy in music, literature, and creative writing. Eric’s happy place is by the ocean, and he particularly enjoys Hawaii.
