EMHS Dance Company presented by Jolene Johnson

The El Molino High School Dance Company is an extra-curricular troupe selected through judged auditions, performs at school rallies, community events, athletic events, and fundraisers, a distinctive presence at nearly every major El Molino High School event..One in every six (6) El Molino High School students is a dancer, part of a remarkable athletic program that reaches into every corner of the campus life.The Dance Teacher herself, Jolene Johnson knows first hand that dance is physically and mentally demanding.
In Johnson's dance classes, students learn dance history, anatomy, nutrition, fitness, choreography, performance, movement, creativity and improvisation.  They study ballet, jazz, modern and hip-hop, plus research choreographers and critique other works.
"I hope that when people take my dance classes they learn something new about themselves that they feel proud of and leave with confidence,"  Johnson said. Jolene Johnson was our 2018 Rotary Teacher of the Year.
