Library Reimagining Plan

ANDY ELKIND

Andy Elkind is a member of the Rotary Club of Healdsburg. For the 2024-2025 year, he will be the Chair of the Club’s Youth Services Committee. Since 2018 he has served on the Sonoma County Library Commission as the Commissioner appointed by the City of Healdsburg. Before retiring, Andy worked in the field of workplace learning and development, with an emphasis on customer service, sales, performance management, and effective leadership.

FRED ENGBARTH

Fred Engbarth is the Sonoma County Library Commissioner appointed by the City of Sebastopol. Fred has been a resident of Sonoma County since 1971, and has lived in Sebastopol since 1974. His professional experience includes education administration at UC Irvine and Sonoma State University and 40 years as a practicing attorney and mediator serving both the public and private sectors. Now retired, Fred has also served the community through Emergency-Disaster for Twin Hills Fire Protection District.

ERIKA THIBAULT

Erika Thibault has been the Sonoma County Library Director since February 2023. As Library Director, she oversees the work of more than 320 staff and 17 locations. Erika joined the countywide library system in 2021, serving first as the Deputy Director. Erika came to Sonoma County from the Los Angeles Public Library, where she worked as a reference librarian, young adult librarian, and library assistant, in addition to her management experience as a branch manager and principal librarian. Before her library career, she worked for Santa Monica Public Radio and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art
