Teresa Tudury, Michael Capella - Magic is in Music
The Magic is in the Music

Two local musicians, talented artists individually, will collaborate to bring us an entertaining and unusual program.  From just around the corner, in Occidental, comes Teresa Tudury. Teresa has been writing music and performing since she was a young girl, and was performing in San Francisco nightclubs by the age of 15.  She has played in the Bay Area for years, then was based in Los Angeles for almost 20 years.  There, she expanded her repertoire to include music, comedy and acting.

Teresa’s voice is a character in its own right -- at once deep, sultry, and powerful, then surprisingly soft and bluesy.  LA Weekly described her voice as a cross between Bette Midler and Bonnie Raitt. She has performed with such greats as Leonard Cohen, Rickie Lee Jones, Lyle Lovett, Taj Mahal, Leo Kottke, Charlie Musselwhite and Bonnie Bramlett.  She continues to perform and write new material, and has recently released a new CD, “West of Paradise”.

Accompanying Teresa will be Michael Capella.  Michael is a Singer-Songwriter who plays a mean guitar, as well as Pedal Steel guitar, and Dobro, a wood-bodied, single cone resonator guitar. Michael has been singing since he was a child, and for over 20 years has been performing other people’s songs both solo and in bands.  He started writing and performing his own songs in his 40’s.  In April of this year, the CD of the Week on KRCB Radio was “Connections” from Michael Capella Band (MCB). He’s been busy lately, recently releasing his _#_ album with MCB, called “Gotta Have Heart”.  He has also been co-writing and performing with a talented artist based in Atlanta, named Jacklyn Steele. Jacklyn collaborated on 3 songs on the new CD.
