Let’s take a virtual dive to explore the colorful & fascinating marine life of Cordell Bank by Gavin

Gavin Chilcott is a member of the boards of directors of both the Cordell Marine Sanctuary Foundation, and the Bay Area Underwater Explorers (BAUE).  He was a team member of BAUE’s exploration expeditions to Cordell Bank in both 2022 and 2023, and is scheduled to participate in another diving expedition to Cordell Bank in 2024.  In addition to exploration diving with BAUE, Gavin is an active technical and cave diver, in addition to being a volunteer scientific diver for Bodega Marine Lab.  

Gavin is a native of Santa Rosa, and has a strong interest in marine conservation projects in central and northern California.  Gavin is a graduate of Santa Rosa Junior College, holds a BA from UC Berkeley and a PhD from the University of Washington.
